Black color – the result of genetic abnormalities – melanism. In nature this happens, but only in animals, insects or fish for the birds – it is something unprecedented.

As already noticed by ornithologists, black flamingos differ but in color from their pink cousins. But experts are concerned about the possible influx of tourists who want to see an unusual bird and can disturb the whole flock. Scientists are asked to watch the flamingos from afar.
